Overview

Thank you to all of those who attended Spring Egg-Stravaganza 2024! Check out more events happening soon.

Get “egg”-cited! Lincoln Park Zoo’s Spring Egg-Stravaganza will have the whole family hopping.

Come celebrate spring at the zoo with this family-favorite event. Highlights include:

  • Multiple egg hunt zones with different terrains and features for ages 12 months–12 years
  • Photos with the Easter Bunny
  • Musical fun with Mary Macaroni and the Impastas
  • Free rides on the Endangered Species Carousel and Lionel Train Adventure
  • Outdoor activities and games
  • Chats with zoo experts to learn more about what spring means at the zoo

Egg hunts will take place in assigned zones with rolling admission. Instead of everyone lining up and sprinting through, children will enter through a one-in/one-out system to meet the capacity of each zone. This means your entry time can be flexible and on your schedule.

Space in each zone is limited and tickets are first come, first served. All ticket purchases are final and no changes are permitted after purchase.

Lincoln Park Zoo will provide approximately 12 eggs for each child. Please be respectful of other participants when hunting.

Guests are required to bring their own baskets or bags for egg hunting. Bags or baskets will not be provided.

All adults will require a non-egg hunt ticket to enter this event. Infants under 12 months may enter for free (with no ticket) with an accompanying ticketed adult.

All Lincoln Park Zoo event tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Learning Chat Schedule

8:15–8:30 a.m. Bird of Prey Chat
From their heads to their talons, birds of prey are equipped with the tools to survive. Join us to learn more about the specialized care they receive at the zoo.

8:45–9 a.m. Flamingo Chat
What do you think flamingos need to thrive? Warm weather? Sandy beaches? Room to spread out? Caring for flamingos can be counterintuitive.

9:15–9:30 a.m. Free Flight Chat
Step into a tropical forest with birds flying overhead. This habitat was designed to meet the needs of more than a dozen bird species living together.

9:30 a.m. Black-crowned Night Heron Chat
Join the Urban Wildlife Institute’s Wildlife Management Coordinator, Henry Adams, for a chance to learn about the black-crowned night heron, a state-endangered bird species that has found a safe haven at Lincoln Park Zoo for over a decade. Adams will be discussing the work they do to help manage and monitor this population of herons.
