Sofia Swoap

About

In her role at Lincoln Park Zoo, Sofia contributes to Project ChimpCARE. She focuses on maintaining and promoting the ChimpCARE Tool, which is designed to promote positive chimpanzee welfare. While obtaining her B.A. in Psychology at North Carolina State University, she focused on studies of animal behavior and cognition. She assisted with studies of primate behavior at the Duke Lemur Center, such as assessing lemurs’ responses to novelty and examining vocalizations in the aye-aye. She also aided studies of puppies at the Duke Canine Cognition Center. Prior to joining the zoo, she interned in the Evolutionary Anthropology department at Duke University.
