Celebrate World Rhino day at Lincoln Park Zoo on Sunday, September 22! The zoo is hosting activities and programs throughout the day celebrating rhinos, sharing stories of care, and raising awareness for their conservation.  Most on grounds activities will be near Regenstein African Journey and the Rhino habitats.

World Rhino Day Schedule

• 10 a.m. – noon ADOPT a Rhino plush!
• 10 – 11 a.m. Where’s Wildlife Mobile Learning Station Activity
• 11 – 11:30 a.m. Rhino Care Demonstration
• 11:30 a.m. – noon Rhino Chat
• 1:30 – 2 p.m. Ask a Keeper Chat

Celebrate World Gorilla day at Lincoln Park Zoo on Tuesday, September 24! There will be activities celebrating gorillas, sharing stories of care, and raising awareness for gorilla conservation. On grounds activities will be located around and at Regenstein Center for African Apes.

• 10:30 – noon Gorilla Activity, Action Table, and Gorillas on the Line Electronics Recycling
• 10:30 a.m. Gorilla Ask a Keeper Chat
• 11 a.m. – noon Great Apes Chat
• 12 – 1 p.m. Secret of the Zoo Mobile Learning Station
• 12:30 p.m. Food Toss Care Session and Ask a Keeper Chat
• 5:30 – 7 p.m. Virtual Gorilla Story Time with the Chicago Public Library

Electronics Recycling for World Gorilla Day!
Recycle old cell phones, small electronic devices, and battery chargers during World Gorilla Day and learn how electronic recycling helps support gorilla conservation! You can drop off your old electronics from 10 a.m. – Noon at Regenstein Center for African Apes.

Celebrate gorillas and chip in for a new Kong toy today! These enrichment items add a challenging element to mealtimes as the gorillas work to extract food items from them. Show your love for the resident gorillas.
